Massage

WE HAVE MASSAGES AVAILABLE 7 DAYS A WEEK!

We offer massage as an integral part of care and recovery.

Massage is beneficial to the whole body. It is known to increase circulation of blood and lymph flow by 10% to 15%. Pressure and movement in massage encourages tense, contracted muscles to relax by stimulating nerve receptors which causes blood vessels to dialate allowing more oxygen into the tissue. At the same time fluid called lymph carries waste away by the squeezing effect of contraction.

Massage aids in the recovery from soft tissue injuries such as sprains and strains, including those suffered during a vehicle accident. It speeds recovery from exercise, boosts the immune system, enhances skin condition, balances the nervous system by soothing or stimulating it.

Your massage will be given by a Certified Massage Therapist who has had many hours of training. Each therapist has a unique touch and uses a blend of different modalities.

Regular price Gift certificates in 1/2 hour, 1 hour or 1-1/2 hour denominations are available at our reception desk.

Massage and Bodywork Services

At times, different types of massage are used depending on how the patient feels and how far along they are in care. We offer a half dozen different styles of massage which often times are incorporated to meet specific needs.

Swedish Massage is a gentle, smooth effleurage (long, sweeping) strokes used on those who might be sensitive to deeper pressure, especially in the early stages following an injury. It promotes relaxation, muscle stress relief and eases bodily aches and pains.

Deep Tissue Massage is used for contracted muscles which come from static holding. The therapist combines shorter strokes and uses more intense pressure to work deeper into connective tissues.

Trigger Point Massage involves applying firm to deep pressure to specific areas (points) to release tension found in muscles, tendons, ligaments and joints.

Shiatsu Massage is a form of Oriental Massage using the science of acupressure (points) to balance the flow of energy in the body. Compression and stretching is incorporated as well and can be deep as well as relaxing for those who prefer a firmer touch that Swedish.

Therapeutic Sports Massage is a custom designed massage specific to different athletic sports endeavors to encourage maximum performance during competition and training. It is often used for pre-event warm-ups. A great way to enhance healing from sports injuries and recovery from intense sporting/athletic events.

Focus Specific Massage is performed with the goal of focusing therapeutic effects on a particular body region for a short duration i.e. neck and shoulders, low back or legs.

Pregnancy Massage is a soothing Swedish massage done using a side lying position with extra pillows for mom and baby's comfort and support. Special attention is given to low back and legs to ease discomfort and promote circulation.
