Success Stories

OUR PATIENTS SPEAK
This is a collection of stories from patients who have done very well with chiropractic care. We hope this is encouraging and informative for those who might have similar conditions.

The Last Thing I Wanted To Do Was Go To A Chiropractor! (for back pain)

I walked out my front door and knew something was wrong. Almost every step I took was painful.

A week later I went to my GP Dr. and said my sciatica (low back) is acting up. This has happened before. I took Soma and it went away in a week.

The doctor put me on Elavil, Flexeril and Darvocit along with physical therapy and icing. The pain only got worse. Every move hurt. When I tried to get out of bed, I would wait until the pain subsided to take a step and then another.

At church, I was drugged up as much as possible and still the pain was so bad that I blacked out for a few seconds. As I was leaving, a friend asked how I was doing. She told me her story and about Dr. Harvey.

I made an appointment and got in by Tuesday. What a difference a day makes. The doctor helped me understand what was happening in my back, leg and down to my foot. Dr. Harvey told me that if he could not help me, he would know in two visits. At the very first visit after the intake process, I already felt better than I did from any physical therapy, or drugs. After two weeks, I was walking better that I ever had in my life. I feel like I am gliding.

I am proud to call him Dr. Harvey. He really does care about the whole person, an encouragement. The office is like a family. It is like coming for a visit.

Thank you God and Harvey Chiropractic,

I Was Walking Like Quasimoto! (from knee and back problems)

From carrying a computer, I ended up walking like Quasimoto! I originally came to see Dr. Harvey years ago with a knee problem from a car accident at 10. I even thought at one time I was a candidate for surgery.

I went to a MD who referred me to an orthopedic who had me doing leg lifts. I even wore a brace for support. When I came to Dr. Harvey about the back problem I asked if it was related to my knee problem - "well, yes!"

Chiropractic was miraculous. My constant knee pain disappeared. I noticed improvement with the first visit. When I returned for my back problem, Dr. Harvey had me come in 3 times a week to start, then two times and then once a week. We tried spacing it our further but I sat too long in a seminar and had a set back.

I was an avid walker, but the knee injury really limited me. I went from walking miles to not being able to walk across a room. But,it's really improved. I'd say it's about 90% improved.

It Was in My Back (that caused hip and knee pain)

My left hip had been giving me grief for many months, and at the age of 47, I assumed it was something I must get use to and accept.

I had seen a specialist for my knee because it was excruciating to walk or bend down. The specialist diagnosed it as deterioration of the cushion between my knee and knee cap. Surgery was recommended but I was determined not to have it, pain or no pain.

Dr. Harvey took x-rays which showed that I had a scoliosis that I had no knowledge of at all. He began adjusting my hip and back and now my knee is pain free almost all the time.

One of my favorite things to do is dance, and now I do! No more knee pain or hip pain! And to think I was ready to settle for a life in constant pain!

I think everyone should treat themselves to chiropractic therapy. It's just wonderful that, in less than a year, chiropractic care has made such a difference in my life.

Healthier, Happier Lives (after a fixed frozen shoulder)

I reluctantly went to see Dr. Harvey when I had a cast removed for a broken wrist and discovered that I had developed a frozen shoulder. I was surprised that he didn't really work on my shoulder, he gave me 1 or 2 adjustments to my back and the pain quickly left. The big surprise was that after several treatments, I also felt less stressed and more energetic. I work on computers 8 hours a day and have asthma, so even without the broken wrist, I was beginning to get locked into having poor posture. My attitude and physical health are better than any other time in my life.

Dr. Harvey treats my husband. He had headaches, a negative attitude, loss of flexibility, signs of stress (high blood pressure), weight gain and the excuse that he was too busy to exercise and worry about his health. Since he has been getting adjustments, his weight is now perfect, he exercises more and he is just a nicer, more youthful and positive person.

For people who want health, fitness and happiness, the staff at HCC can help you along the path to achieve it. Submitted with thanks and greatfulness.

I Was a Real Skeptic (repetitive stress syndrome)

I have repetitive motion injury and neck and shoulder pain which started on my left side and went to my right shoulder from doing ultra sound. I push heavy equipment. This initially started 7 years ago. I have done drug therapy and physical therapy which gave me temporary relief. Even after drugs there was no constant relief. I did this for about a year.

A friend who was coming to Dr. Harvey for headaches referred me here.

Chiropractic enabled me to keep working and not be in constant discomfort. My original examination showed there was impingement syndrome in between the shoulders and I also had a bulging disc in the neck. The doctor recommended I see him for three times a week for the next month. I had a good response. My pain in the shoulder eased and my neck was less restricted. My condition had probably improved 75% within 6 months. I had a significant change!

I would encourage others to try Chiropractic! I was a real skeptic being in the medical field since I had a bad experience before with another chiropractor. They're not all the same so I recommend it for everyone!

Using Computers All Day (caused upper back pain)

As a graphic artist, using computers a lot, a condition had built up in my neck, shoulder and upper back area that was beginning to affect me after work as well. Not coincidentally it started a couple of years after I began using the computer daily. Three of my co-workers have been seeing Dr. Harvey and sharing good feedback.

In the original exam, it was discovered I'd lost the curve in my neck and a lot of parts were compensating for other parts resulting in all that tension! I do a lot of stuff on the computer at home also. With a little neck awareness, (by taking more breaks and using the "neck roll" and "tennis ball" treatment the doctor recommended) I can extend my time on the Mac without too much discomfort.

I think the best thing about coming here is that I learned why I was in the condition I was in and how it was going to be remedied. I can definitely tell how I was before my first visit and where I am now, and it is a definite improvement. I use to have a bad neck condition that made it difficult to sleep. It's not there any more.

It Was Not All in My Head! (Headaches and Neck Pain)

I had headaches for 15 years which had progressed to daily headaches in the last 3 years with stiffness in my neck and between the shoulder blades. Many times they were migraines accompanied by nausea and sensitivity to light and sound. I was taking up to 6 Advils, 4 times a day. (Many years ago I was prescribed Moltrin before it was even available over the counter.) It never completely suppressed the pain. I finally went to see a neurologist. A brain scan showed no abnormality. The treatment was to try one pain killer after another.

One of my co-workers who referred me in, had great results with her sciatic problem. X-rays showed I had lost the curve in my cervical vertebraes (neck) and had slight scoliosis. My neck was so tight it was difficult to adjust at times and applying moist heat and a little massage helped. After 2 years the headaches were gone except for periodic occurrences. (What's 2 years compared to having headaches for 15?) I continue to be treated whenever needed.

I was so impressed by the results or relief from the combination of adjustments and massage that I went to massage school and became certified thinking I would change careers. Instead I added massage therapy to my graphic arts career and do both. I'm busier but less stressed. I'm an avid supporter and advocate of chiropractic because I know it works.

Thank you, Dr. Harvey for taking me out of pain and giving me a new lease on life!
